2014 Reflection : Travels

$

One of the things I realized I did more in 2014 was that I actually travelled a lot.

I travelled to places I have never been to and never imagined going. I went to Krabi, Jakarta, Bandung, Singapore, China and India. It was also a cuti-cuti Malaysia kind of year, as I also travelled to Alor Setar, Melaka, Pahang and Johor. In 2013 I did not expect to be travelling so much in 2014, and honestly I couldn't see myself travelling at all but I did.

I did not just mean it physically but also I have travelled as a person. I think I grew out a lot of things and travelled across a lot of areas I found myself in. I personally love this quote by Rumi:

Travel brings power and love back into your life.”

― Rumi

It was also a big achievement for me that I went to Jakarta, Bandung, China and India without the husband. This was really an achievement because after we became parents to an angel it was so difficult for me to be apart from him. So what happened in 2014, me pushing the boundaries and travelling without him, felt really good. Of course, travelling with friends is the next best thing, and I really enjoyed going to Jakarta and Bandung with Shea Rasol and Nurul WW to meet Dian Pelangi and Lulu el Hasbu. I also went to China and India with Azrina.

That's not to say I didn't travel with the husband at all. We went to Krabi together for a short vacation that was really extremely amazing! It's one of the best vacations that I've ever had with him. We also went to Singapore, Alor Setar and Johor Bahru together and loved discovering these places. Most of my travels was actually for work, either blogging jobs or my fashion related business, but it has really been awesome. Travelling is one of my favourite things and of course if I can work while travelling, it is a bonus!

So 2014 has been incredible and amazing. All praises to God for the rizq.

I am really looking forward to travelling at the end of this month with the husband to a place we have dreamed to go together for so long. It will be my first travel in 2015, and I pray that both of us will have the rezeki to go because we have been wanting to go this past 2 years. May Allah grant me the strength, health and energy this year.

Other than that, I am not sure where I will be travelling to in 2015. But, last year's travels were all surprises and for some of those trips, I only got to know about them just a few days before so I'll be blessed if there are more surprises this year.

This is another great quote that I love about travelling:

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

― Mark Twain,

I am going to share some of my favourite travel photos from 2014. I know I promised to share about my travels to those places, I'll share them bit by bit, in due time. Next up, I'm going to share 2014 Reflections on my career, looks and some of the yummy, yummy food that's so good, I have to share them!

Till then, enjoy the photos below :)

One day I found these pictures on the fridge we just got at our home. Khubayb surprised me. He asked me to get something from the fridge (he seldom does that) and I found these pictures. It made me smile. :) Last week, he was calling out my name from the living room and I started to arrange these magnets on the fridge and just stare at it and all the beautiful memories of me and Jibrael kept on replaying in my head. Love. This is what it does to us :) We miss the person we love when we are apart.

I drafted this post more than one week ago, but really I've been thinking about this day since December. THE day. Yesterday, 14.1.15. My daughter's second birthday.

I searched for my post last year on how I dealt with facing this day. I found my post Counting Down the Days : 14.1.14 : Expect the Unexpected X in my blog and wanted to read it. I couldn't. I read the first paragraph and stopped. And I started to write this post.

You know, I've shared before that when I blog, I'm such a perfectionist and I like to keep it all organised. I will read the post again and again before I publish it. Writing this post has been easy, whatever I felt flows through my fingers when I typed it out. But then, reading it back. That wasn't so easy. I'm not sure why. So I couldn't finish this post. I couldn't read it again. I just worked on another post about something else. Or just put something on IG. Or just do anything else other than finishing this post. There was a mental block and I didn't know why. I still don't. Today, however, I could finally find the strength to finish this.

Last year I wrote Visiting My Daughter : Expect the Unexpected XVI on me visiting her. I was contemplating on whether to visit her on the 14th or the day before that this year. I really do not know what to expect. Last year it was a public holiday on the 14th of January as it was Maulidur Rasul, Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birthday. Since last week, the plan was to visit her on her birthday. From the week before I decided that I would take time off from work because I just didn't know what to expect this year. We wanted to recite the qur'an in remembrance of her, and then just visit her early in the morning. Maybe have a little breakfast before that.

So yesterday, both me and the husband woke up for Subuh prayers. It was still a little too early so we both laid back in bed. For a while, I could feel we both wanted to talk about this day. But we didn't. We just kept quiet for a long while. And did nothing. Just lying in bed.

We knew both of us should've gotten ready to go to her grave. We already prepared our outfits for our special day the night before. But, we just couldn't. We were still pushing ourselves but we just couldn't. But by then we had already started talking. About our baby, about the events two years ago. The flashbacks. About our feelings. About what we would be doing this year if she was still here. About everything.

All of a sudden I received an unexpected message from a dear friend. She was just checking up on me and to see how we were. That was really sweet of her. I told her that we haven't yet gone to the grave and that I'm not happy with that and ourselves because last year we were at the grave in the morning. We didn't know why we couldn't do it this year.

Then she said "... don't push yourself to do things just because it seems like the right thing to do okay. Take it at your own time. If you can't visit her today, you can go another time when you are ready. She knows you love her I'm sure".

That message was a comfort and a relief. It really was.

It may seem easy to just go, to just get ready and visit my child's resting place on this Earth on her 2nd 'birthday'. But... it's not. It's not easy. It's really not. In fact it was even harder than last year. And I was not one to admit that it was difficult. And I now finally admit it. It is difficult. And until today, I still do not have the strength to pay her a visit. I pray that this weekend I will be able to. It's just so hard... May Allah give us the strength.

For my memories' sake, I've compiled my IG postings recently for my dear baby.

Her fingers and mine :) Something happened just now and it triggered me to reminisce the most amazing moments in my life when I spent time with my late daughter Putri Jibrael Zumirrah. @kneok took this picture just after she held my fingers. It was amazing Subhanallah. All praises to Allah for the gift of love that the Creator gave to me.  I'm thankful to Allah for lending me a few hours for me to spend with my daughter. It is the best gift in my life. A miracle of life that I get to witness with my family.  I miss Jibrael so very much. I'm  blessed to have a child in heaven. Alhamdulillah. #strength4jibrael

11.1.15 - Haven't felt like wearing anything colourful this past few days. 3 days to go... I just really don't know what to expect. I mean it's only the second year. I'm not prepared for this. Who is? I can't talk about it to anyone except with @kneok. We're in the same boat. I've been writing about my feelings approaching that day. Everything just flows and I typed it out very fast. But I couldn't finish it. I get stuck and then I move on to something else. Im not even sure if I should finish it. Oh well maybe I can just publish an unfinished post? I guess. Mixed feelings, mixed emotions. But I believe that maybe I'm dealing with this better than last year. I'm not going to speak too soon though. Im not sad, Im not trying to get any sympathy, I just want to write it out. It feels better when I do. This caption is so long I could actually turn it into a blogpost already! Anyways, me getting ready and going out of the house today is an achievement. [Pat on the back] It's true that it doesn't get easier. No mother will want their child to leave this world before them but I know that I am really blessed to have a daughter who is waiting for me in heaven. Every day is a day closer for me to meet her again. I just hope that Allah can forgive our sins and allow us to meet her in the place we can only pray to go to. #rnadiasabrina #strength4jibrael

13.1.15 - I never forget but thanks for reminding Macbook ♡ Uplifting mood today :D It's a beautiful day today and it's going to be a special day tomorrow :) Flashbacks of that beautiful day 2 years ago running in my head. Singing "what a feeling in my soul, love burns brighter than sunshine. Let the rain fall I don't care, I'm yours and suddenly you're  mine" by Aqualung. The same song I sang to my daughter Jibrael when she was in me exactly 2 years ago, that beautiful day. The last full day she was here with me. ♡ °♡ "Love will remain a mystery, but give me your hand and you will see. Your heart is keeping time with me. " All praises to the Creator for the beautiful memories and for blessing me with the unconditional love a mother has to her child. Blessed to be a mother to Jibrael who's too beautiful for earth she had to go to heaven 12 hours after she was born in this world. Alhamdulillah.  I miss her. But that is what happens when we love someone. We miss them when they are away. May we all reunite one sweet day @kneok  #strength4jibrael

13.1.15 - Leaning on LOVE. (Can you see it?) I can't believe tomorrow is going to be 2 years of me being a mother to my angel, Jibrael :) I'm grateful to the Creator for blessing me with a child in heaven. In my mind, my heart and my prayers always. I will miss you till the day we reunite again. I look forward to that one sweet day :) A beautiful moment it shall be, beyond imagination.  #strength4jibrael

14.1.15 - Today is a special day. 😊 14.1.15. Happy 2nd birthday to my beautiful angel Jibrael who I am sure is having a wonderful time up in heaven. :) I wonder how you've been but heaven is beautiful beyond imagination. :D Exactly 2 years ago Mama gave birth to you and your Abah @kneok & I officially became parents to you, our eldest daughter Putri Jibrael Zumirrah. Remembering those moments when I saw you came out of my belly makes me smile. I'm just in awe of God's beautiful creation. It was one of the most beautiful moments in my life. 4.17am 14th January 2013. It was an emergency cesarean section surgery. I'm blessed to be your mother and for all the beautiful memories I had since the day I was pregnant. I look forward to the day our family will be complete again. May God reunite us again one sweet day. Hopefully together with your younger siblings too InsyaAllah ♡ I miss you and I love you very much. Continuous Al-Fatihah and prayers for you. °
Ya Allah, please convey our love, our longing and this message to my daughter. Increase our dependency on You alone and grant us strength and energy to go through this life that you have blessed us with in this world. Forgive us all and please reward each and everyone of those who has been supportive and has been really kind to us throughout this journey. ° ♡ °
Picture from @angelmommies #strength4jibrael

14.1.15 - When I read the beautiful words from my daughter's father in his post, I am reminded of the tears of happiness when we finally got to meet her and then the tears of pain when we found out she had to leave this world too soon. The day she was born and lived for 12 hours outside my womb 14.1.13 will forever be a special day in our lives. She left us to go to a much better place. May we all strive to go there too. ° ♡ °
Repost By Jibrael's Abah @kneok "Two years to the day you drove me to tears,
For the utter joy of your birth against all odds.
I gently spoke of your mama's strength and our love for you in your ears,
And praised the Almighty for you were truly a gift from God.
#strength4jibrael"

14.1.15 - A tiny little heart, cut out. Having a quiet family dinner with @kneok without her. We wish we could celebrate with her. It's just us two. I must admit that today reminds me of all the beautiful moments with my daughter but it is not easy because it is also the same date that she left. But it's her second year in heaven :) Alhamdulillah, she is in a better place and God has a better plan for her. I have to thank everyone for the wishes and prayers today especially here. And for the few who personally messaged me or called me. It means a lot ♡ You have no idea. #strength4jibrael

9.1.15 - Our favorite day... Friday... January 9th... 5 days to go. Searching for comforting words and found this. God tests whom He loves. May He grant us strength and bring us closer to His Love through all trials and tribulations.  Peace and blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad. All praises to the Creator who inspires. #notetoselfandothers #strength4jibrael

Dear my sweet angel beautiful Jibrael, it's our favourite day today :) Friday. You are just too beautiful for this earth. I can't believe it has been two years. I miss you. I miss having you inside my belly and I miss you kicking and punching me from the inside. That always made me smile and sometimes laugh a little because I am ticklish like that. I miss holding your fingers. I miss it when your tiny fingers grabbed mine. I miss looking at your beautiful face and perfect body. I miss listening to the sounds you made when you came out of my belly. I miss having you in front of me and in my arms. I miss having your picture taken by your Abah. I miss everything about you. Some of the most beautiful sweet amazing moments in my life, I am very blessed to experience with you, my first child.

My Putri Jibrael Zumirrah,

I wonder how you are doing over there. I'm sure you are having a wonderful time up there in heaven. :) I know that every single day of you in heaven is better than all the birthday parties of anyone here in this world combined. I am sorry I did not visit you on the day of your second birthday in heaven this year. I planned to do it with your Abah. But both of us just couldn't. I hope and pray that you are not mad at us. We are not as strong as you. Thank you for being the inspiration that you have been to us and for teaching us so many life lessons. You have taught me so much. It's funny how, I am supposed to be teaching you about life but instead you're the one teaching me. I am so blessed to be given the greatest gift a parent could ever ask for. A beautiful child, God's amazing creation. We love you so much only God hows. We miss you and another day of us getting older is a day closer for us to meet you. You are always in my prayers, so I hope you always pray for me, your Abah, the rest of the family and everyone who's been praying for you too.

I don't know about time over there but time in this world is pretty short. I can't believe that 2 years has passed. God is Great. It feels like it was only yesterday that I have just given birth to you. However, when I look forward, it seems like it it still a long journey for me to go and meet you. I will never know. I am sorry that sometimes late at night when nobody is watching I tear a little when it gets too painful. I know I shouldn't be crying. But, I know it will be worth the wait. However, I pray that God will reunite us that one sweet day. I believe that it will be worth the wait. I know meeting you in that place is worth all the pain and the tears. InsyaAllah. Thank you for making me a mother. Alhamdulillah.  Mama will strive my best to be worthy of meeting you in heaven. There are a lot of times that I may have slipped but please pray for me. Please pray that Allah will forgive my flaws and weaknesses.

My journey to meet you will continue forever until my last breath... I love you very much Jibrael...  Happy second in Heaven :) All praises to the Creator who created everything.

Here's our song. The last song I sang to you. I never forget that beautiful moment. Makes my heart smile every time. :)

ISSORIA Blues

Hello and salam dear readers :)

I watched Terbaik Dari Langit the movie for the second time on 3rd January 2015. It was also a mini reunion with my high school mates so I decided to wear blue and white (reminded me of school times when we used to wear blue bottoms and white tops). Since the movie revolves around friendship I was inspired to wear an outfit a combination of which reminded me of the good ol days :) I met school mates who I haven't met in ages. It was a lovely day.

That day, I wore one of the designs that I had the most pleasure to work on, the ISSORIA Asymmetrical Draped Skirt. From my sketches, to a more professional sketch by my assistant designer Ina, to technical drawings, sampling, approval of samples and everything in between. This is the most challenging design that I have had to work on with  Ina. But also the most satisfying from the response that I have been getting :)

I had the idea and wanted a skirt like this ever since 2013, and I sketched it back then and showed it to Ina in July 2014. I wanted it to be an asymmetrical skirt with pleats and drapes. So many changes happened when we got the many many samples. It went to and fro overseas more than 5 times! We had to change it so much from the actual original drawing. We had to make sure that the fit is perfect, that it looks flattering as well as the drapes will fall nicely on the body. It took us 4 months to confirm the design and be happy with the final sample before I decided to produce it for aere. When I saw the final  samples I was just so happy that I was finally be able to say that it's perfect and ready for production.

A lot of people who saw the skirt before it was released kept on asking me when it is going to be out. That naturally pushed me even harder to work on the skirt and hurry the production but I did not want to sacrifice the design and produce something which I wasn't entirely happy with. So that was why I had to wait until we managed to get the perfect sample.

I must say that it was worth the wait for me. We released it at the end of December just few days before we entered 2015. Alhamdulillah.

Below is part of the description I put at aere's page on FV.

The ISSORIA Draped Skirt is aere's striking masterpiece experimenting with pleats, drapes and folds on this gorgeous asymmetric skirt. The pleats add volume to the waterfall-like drapes created by this luxurious silk-satin material that accentuates the fluid feel of movement. Aere’s work of art, the Issoria, has a loose and flattering wrap effect and front fit silhouette.

This lightweight piece is effortless to style and can be worn with any top. It can be worn for both casual and formal occassions. Style it with aere's Zerene sequinned cropped top and a classic clutch for a leisurely glamourous evening or style it with a casual top and sandals to still look classy even for a relaxed day out.
The silk satin is lightweight yet luxurious silk-satin material with a dimmed elegant sheen.
It is also available in black.
I added hints of gold with my vintage bag, new pointy shoes and favourite arm candies to finish off the look. Lastly, guys, go watch Terbaik Dari Langit!

Moving Places

Hello Saturday. :)

Here's me captured by kneok in between him moving to his new law firm office that he just set up. He has been a bit busy moving his stuffs from his old office to this new place and I must say I really love this new venue more!

It has been a really good start to this 2015 as the husband is moving into a much better place than before. I am so happy and proud of him. Alhamdulillah for the rezekis.

InsyaAllah we will be leaving for umrah next week and no words can describe my feelings for that.

Below is a reflective picture I took from the reception of his previous office just a while back. The view from the reception was awesome but the actual office itself was actually quite small. Hehe. The new office is much bigger and better!

I wore Dian Pelangi's top I got from the launch of her boutique in Malaysia yesterday from her label Dian Pelangi and matched it with my Sofina 2.1 inspired by Vivy Yusof from Fashion Valet. I heard there's a contest going on for us to get all colours of the soon to be released #sofina3!!! I want! So here's my attempt hehe.

"You might be a big fish
In a little pond
Doesn't mean you've won
'Cause along may come
A bigger one
And you'll be lost"

~Coldplay, Lost~

Reminded of one of my fav songs when I captured this photo at @kneok 's new office. There's actually more fishes but they were a bit shy when I was about to take their photos. @kneok managed to capture more!

Azmi + Diana's Wedding : Mini Reunions

Congratulations guys!!! Today, 25th January 2015, Mr Norazmi bin Norazman wedded Ms Diana binti Dzul Karnain. The above picture speaks a thousand words. I've known these two newlyweds since 2002 (12 years ago) when we were in matriculation doing law together. All of us were actually in the same class in our first matrix class in uni but just like my story where I never actually spoke to my husband then, Azmi and Diana also barely recognised each other's existence then. Both Diana and I really didn't think that we both would end up with these guys! But fate and God brought us together. So, here's to the two couples from Group 16! :D

Azmi and Khubayb were roommates together with Haekal Talib when they were in uni and as for Diana and I, we entered the law matriculation halfway through. I was from the Engineering course at that time. I didn't want to do engineering at that time as I intended to do law. So, Diana, Maryam and I were the latecomers in Law Group 16.

Apart from it being a beautiful wedding today it was also like a mini reunion for me as I got to meet my unimates as well as my ex-colleagues in my previous law firms. That's because I've been attached and worked in both the law firms that Azmi was in.

Okay, I'll stop with the historical whatevs and share with you the photos of the wedding now! :D

Diana looking stunning right after her solemnisation with Azmi. I am so happy for you babe!

We didn't wear matching outfits today. I'm in green and he's in grey-blue. We just complement each other :p

Happy to meet my classmates in uni. Some I haven't met in years. It sure felt good to catch up:  Zeida Farhana, Amirah Ausi, Norleen Nordin, Wan Muna Amirah, Huda Zakariya, Maryam And Hamid, Nuzul Iswani and Eylia.

I mixed and matched a top my aunt made for me for my cousin's wedding recently and the skirt from my kurung and shawl I wore for Shereen's Engagement in 2011.

My lovely ex-colleagues from the previous firm I was practising in: Wan Yusni Adela, Atiza Nur and Farhah Hussein. Haven't seen them for almost a year! Happy to chat with them today :)

The happiest two, Azmi and Diana on their big day today. May God bless your marriage and may the love that God has put in your hearts lasts till the Afterlife.

Us ladies with the bride. L-R : Wani, Muna, Norleen, Maryam, Nuzul Iswani, Nadia Sabrina, Amirah Ausi and Attiyah.

Yaya and me. The last time I took a picture with Yaya here was on her wedding day with Haekal :)

Perfect photo of Azmi, Diana and Aiman. One happy family.

Little Nuha was super friendly and manja, Khubayb just had to capture this photo of me and her.

Farrah Abdullah who used to chamber in the law firm I was previously in. We really had spent some crazy times together during those 9 months! :D Can't wait for what's coming soon.

Kneok aka Khubayb and I.

Me with the door gift, pretty looking fans.

Zeida Farhana and I.

Haekal+Yaya and Hafsham+Farrah with the bride and groom.

Khubayb with his uni-mates. Shahir, Saiful Idham, Hafsham, Alif, Adam, Ami Rozaidi.

That's it for today. Just a snapshot of the fleeting moments. Till my next post. :)

Turn My Life Around

Hello Monday!

I am really excited for this week as I will be leaving this Thursday to the place that I've been missing so much the past almost 3 years. God-willing :) Even more so, the past 2 years. I miss the feeling and the experience. (See two of my personally favourite posts : I Am Home and True Love : Unworthy Me). The umrah trip I had in 2012 actually turned my life around. I hope that this trip that I'll be going to this week will bring me closer to goodness and closer to the Truth insyaAllah.

Anyways, what's been happening with me? I have been busy working on and finalising future collections for aere with my hardworking team. Hehe. It's been really fun and I can't wait to share with you all what we have been working on for the past few months. So now, I really am just focusing on aere and blogging here on RNadiacom.  I can't be more grateful for the blessings and gifts. Alhamdulillah.

Anyways, today, I am wearing the drawstring pants by FV Basics I wore in Abstract on the Wall and Back to Basics which I got from Fashion Valet. I wore it with my Sugarscarf and my body hugging work top which I usually button up in the past. Since I'm trying to have a more loose look nowadays I just open up the buttons and wear a sleeveless inner. Well at least I can put my work shirts to good use now! :) We can always improvise what we have in the wardrobe. Love mix and matching!

The Unexpected Move and A Short Farewell

Salam and morning dear readers.

Two days ago something nice happened. Just when I thought I'll be separated from the FV team whom I have been working a lot with since they had to move office, on Monday me with a few others went off to an unexpected move to a change of environment and a much better place Alhamdulillah. Yes, the same place as FV's office.

We only got to know on Monday itself. :) It was a real pleasant surprise! I love the new environment and ambience.

And I had just blogged about Moving Places last Saturday. When I blogged on Turn My Life Around last Monday,I still did not know about the move too!

Here's a photo of us being all sad and then back to our happy self last Friday. Little did we know that we won't actually be separated. I've spent so much time with these people since I started aere. Almost everyday of the week!!! I remember after this photo was taken I did not want to say goodbye to everybody because I just did not want to get all emotional and I just rushed to the launch of Dina Pelangi's boutique in Shah Alam. I really wasn't ready to say goodbye.

We didn't have to say goodbye after all :)

Also, I am finally going to umrah again insya-Allah tomorrow! Been meaning to update on this but I've just been so busy. I haven't even finished (or started) packing yet. Will have to sort out everything tonight. But I'm excited. I've really been looking forward to go back there as I mentioned in my post .

On Monday itself, during the move Fahima came and spent time with me and helped bring me from my old office to the new office. Since we had already planned a meet-up even before I got to to know about the move. It really was a surprise. Eima brought me some stuffs for umrah including her own abayas and books on umrah. We had good yummy food at The Gravy Factory where I had baked crab. Yums! I also did a blogging job after working hours and then had dinner with Mel. It was a really greta catchup with her at Pasta Zanmai where I had my Japanese fusion fix. Yesterday, my CIL Azura also came to my new office as she wanted to get aere's stuffs to bring for her trip too! And yesterday Ruzana came and spent some time with me at my parents' house while I was looking for my umrah stuffs! Spent some quality time with the family too :) Alhamdulillah.

Finally, before I leave, I'd like to shoutout a few things. I know that I have been stalling the announcement of the winners of my #rnadiagiveaway. See RNadiaGIveaway #1 : Dinner Winners' Shortlist R but the reason is because I couldn't choose just two out of the five shortlisted (that also took such a long time!) so in the end I decided to choose three!

Congratulations:

@pinkdurian, @imaginetaty and @kiasatinaothman

Dinner is on me :) Can't wait to meet and chat with you girls. Please email me at rnadiadotcom@gmail.com with your details so I can reach you after I come back from umrah, insya-Allah.

There's also an exciting announcement on aere, which I will be posting right after this.

So this is a short farewell, God-willing! :)  Forgive me if I have ever did any wrong to you and forgive me for my shortcomings, flaws and weaknesses. Thanks for your support, for everything and for sticking around here! I really appreciate all the love. Much love from me!!! I'll see you if I see you again :)

This week has been pretty amazing :) This week has been a good week all around as I've blogged in The Unexpected Move and A Short Farewell. :) Alhamdulillah. It is a big bonus to me that aere has just reached 15,000 followers on Instagram! We had just launched end of 2014 and sometimes the support that I have been receiving still feels so surreal. The Love of GALAXY

$

I started to fall in love with Samsung when I received my first Samsung GALAXY Note 1. It was my first proper smart phone and I became really attached to it. After that, at the end of 2012, the husband bought me the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 tablet as a gift for me to use for blogging and other things when I was in the hospital. Then, in 2013 I bought myself a semi DSLR Samsung camera which I mostly use for the blog and brought with me everywhere I go to snap photos. And finally in early 2014 I upgraded my GALAXY Note 1 to the GALAXY Note 3 after 3 solid years of use. Once you fall in love, you never go back. :)

Being a fan of Samsung gadgets I was naturally excited when they invited me for the launch of the new Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 smart phones. Since I knew that the colour for Samsung is blue, I wore a hint of blue just to fit into the theme.

As soon as I arrived, Hana from Astro Awani came up to me and told me that she would want to record a live interview of me about the launch of the new smartphone by Samsung. I didn’t hesitate to do it since it was pretty easy for me to talk about gadgets that I love. At that moment though, I had not gotten the chance to hold the Samsung GALAXY A3 and Samsung GALAXY A5 yet. So, I couldn’t really talk about the new phones at that time but I expressed how I was really looking forward to use it. Looking back at the interview below, I just hope that I actually contained my excitement at that time. I looked overly excited!

Right after the official launching of the event, the moment I had been waiting for finally came. We get to test, use and play with the Samsung GALAXY A3 and Samsung GALAXY A5. It is really awesome. There are so many new features!!!

You know how sometimes, people say that the social media has turned youngsters to be anti-social as everyone is just glued to our phones. I actually think the opposite. Social media brings connectivity to another different level as we get to connect with more people who we might not have been able to reach if it wasn’t for social media.

One of the best features of the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 is the Wide Selfie feature where we can now take selfie photos in a group. I love the togetherness that it brings between people. The 5MP wide angle front camera now allows me to do a Wide Selfie up to 120°. This is awesome because usually when we snap a selfie the quality of the picture and MP is lower and plus, we can now turn a selfie into a Wide Selfie as we can really take group photos! Here in this post I am sharing with you the many many Wide Selfies we took with the Samsung GALAXY A5. I can’t wait for my next outing with friends to try out and fit as many friends in a Wide Selfie as possible. During my last outing with my girlfriends, we had to use a selfie stick to capture a wider angle and include all 12 of us. I can’t wait to capture more meaningful moments with friends & family without the camera angle limitation.

Below are Wide Selfie photos we captured  using the Samsung GALAXY A5.

The other thing I love about the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 is the sleek full-metal slim design. It looks so classy and chic.  Since it is a sleek and stylish phone, the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 will surely act as a trendy accessory to any outfit.

The stunning high definition Super AMOLED display on the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 guarantees that we get to enjoy more vivid and colourful contents in virtually any environment, even under bright sunlight. We get an ultimate social media experience with true-to-life viewing experience, anywhere at any time.

You know how when we take a selfie our arm that’s holding the camera/phone is always visible? It is pretty distracting especially when we are not alone in the picture. Usually everyone would ask the other person to hold the phone because they don’t want to be seen as holding it. Haha you know what I’m talking about. The cool thing with the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 is that we don’t need to use our fingers to push the button when we want to capture a Wide Selfie. We can just use palm movement (Palm Selfie) or the voice recognition (Voice Selfie) feature. Say “cheese!” I must say that this innovative photo-taking feature is pretty cool and well thought of. It makes the selfie even quicker and easier. Plus, the “beauty face” feature which is also available in the previous GALAXY series (including the one I’m using right now) is also available in the Samsung GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5 so we get to automatically beautify the selfies. I’ve shared this in my earlier blogpost on my tips for a selfie.

I had fun trying out the animated GIF feature too. I get to capture moments in a more dynamic & lively manner.

Enough of all the features and back to the design. They have 4 gorgeous colours which will match most if not many of the outfits that we usually wear. I initially can’t decide between Pearl White and Champagne Gold.

Which colours would you choose? Go to www.samsung.com/my/a5 to check out the phone and choose the colour you want. Express your style, character and preference by choosing the right one.

I think I already know mine. It’s the Champagne Gold colour. Can’t wait to get my hands on my own gold Samsung GALAXY A5!!! Hope I get to meet my new found love pretty soon :)

Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi

If you are a Malaysian, and you are travelling overseas, what’s the first thing that you’ll pack? Yes, some Malaysian instant food! It’s either rendang or instant noodles right? Haha, don’t deny it. We all do it! Wherever we go, we must take a little part of local food with us. When I travelled to China and India last year, I also brought some packet food with me.

Instant noodles are fast becoming a staple food to us Malaysian. A lot of students eat it when they are broke because it’s very cheap. It’s convenient to make and hassle free. You don’t even need a kitchen. Just boiled water. I don’t eat it very often though, but once in a while, yes I do indulge in some instant noodles.

One of the types that I like is the mee goreng (fried mee) instant noodles. You don’t actually have to fry it. Actually I don’t know why it’s called that, but I guess it does look like it’s fried. Recently I tried Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi. Normally I just go for the original flavour but the Ayam Krispi is supposed to be an innovation and the first in Malaysia. It also comes with Krispi Krezz Krezz bits (yes, I was curious to know what it was too) so I decided to try it out.

The Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi comes with the standard soy sauce and oil condiments, but it also came with a chilli condiment. That’s something new to me. It also comes with chicken-flavoured seasoning as well.

Preparing it, student-style, was easy. Instant noodles really live up to their name. From the start, when I was preparing it the chicken-ish aroma was quite strong. The noodles were quite springy. The Krispi Krezz Krezz bits give the noodles a bit of crunch. It is actually fried onion bits with chicken flavour. I really liked the crunchiness.

Personally, the chicken-flavoured seasoning and the chicken-flavoured Krispi Krezz Krezz bits made the chicken flavour a bit overwhelming. Maybe you can reduce the chicken-flavoured seasoning for a better chicken-flavoured taste.

The Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi is certainly new, but it won’t dislodge my favourite original flavour. But if you like chicken, try it out! I’m going to bring this for my next travel.

Interested to try out some? I am doing a giveaway and the mechanics are simple – all you have to do is to tell me why you deserve this pack of Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi (comment at the comment section), and the 5 most creative answers will win! Don’t forget to leave your email address!

Good luck!

Hello and salam! :)

I have been missing in action for the past 2 weeks here on my blog. I know. :)  I've been away for umrah for 13 days and it was a wonderful an amazing experience. Alhamdulillah. Since I got back last Tuesday I spent most of my time with my parents and family as well as preparing for aere's latest release, today. Check out :

You might have noticed though that I've been updating regularly on IG though. Both for @rnadiasabrina and @aere.

The first release of aere's ZERENE end of last year went so well Alhamdulillah. A lot of people have been asking for a restock. So while planning for my second collection, I decided to make more of the ZERENEs due to the popular demand and this time in exciting colours and added a special feature too! Besides being reversible, there are a few of the ZERENEs which are dual-coloured. Of course blue has to be one of the colours I chose since it is one my favourite colours. :)

In the midst of it all, I managed to do this ootd somewhere in Damansara the day after the catalogue and campaign photoshoots. I'll share the amazing photos from the photoshoot here on my blog soon and I might share the BTS too. Eventhough I was still jet-lagged at the that time but the day after I came back from umrah was a productive day for aere as we had two separate photoshoots in one day! More on that later.

I just realised it has been awhile since I actually shared my looks here on my blog. So, in the meantime, here's me wearing the new ZERENE Sequinned Reversible Top + Jacket in Blue from aere. This time I wore it as a jacket on top of a simple look I wore to work. Paired it with my fishtail top, dUCKscarves, H&M pants and Sofina 3 from FV

If you want to have a look at my other blogposts on the ZERENE, see : A Golden Night, The Golden Voice of John Legend, My First Fashion Show : Behind the Scenes, Surprise Fashion Feature, One Small Step : First Fashion Show, A Grandeur Surprise Down South, The Sun is Shining on Me Today and d-ELLE-lightful Surprises This Week. There are also a few looks I didn't blog here but I posted on my IG and hash tagged #wearaere so you can go cheek it out there too! Till my next post! :)

The stars are aligned and the night is serene.
Sparkle and shine bright with our light-catching sequins.

{Cue song : Shine Bright Like a Diamond... Tonight, you and I}

Can't get the song out of my head now.

I'm pleased to officially announce the comeback of the new ZERENE in eight colours and added features. I've mentioned about it in my post Once in A Blue Night too.

Anyways, I can't describe my feelings when I first saw the campaign photos from the photoshoot aere had with the Fashion Valet for the ZERENE NIGHT Collection. I was excited and I just love it so much! The team for the campaign shoot was great. I must say all of them are talented in their own ways. Not to mention the shoot was actually done at night of 11th February 2015 the day after I came back from my long break. I remember before my almost 2 weeks break I just mentioned to VD that I wanted the background to be dark and just play with lights and shadows. But, what they did was even better than I imagined it to be!

So who are the creative individuals behind the shoot? Veen Dee planned the whole shoot together with Nadhira and Marissa from FV, Farid Rosli was the photographer of the night,  Sam assisted, Lucie is the French model who's such a pro at giving cool various poses, Min Luna did the styling, Dada Anuar did the editing for the lookbook, Sheng Saw did the makeup and Boon Dylan did the hair.

I will let the pictures do the talking here in this post. And I'll take about it more when I do a BTS blogpost of the photoshoot.

To browse the lookbook, click : ZERENE NIGHT

A collection featuring 8 colours of the ZERENE Reversible Sequinned Top + Jacket. This time, not only it is reversible, but you can choose whether you want a matte or shiny finish and some pieces are dual-coloured so you can do a quick and easy change of colour. Innovation is the way to go! Click on the colours below the pictures for details on the ZERENE pieces :)

Salam and hello dear readers.

2015 is moving really fast. I can't believe it is going to be the end of the second month of the year already.

Here are some shots of me at a place where I spend most of my time at currently!

Green is a colour I rarely wear but I've been loving this comfy green aladdin pants which I  first wore in India (see 2014 Reflection : Travels). Since it is a strong deep green colour I toned my outfit down by wearing neutral colours for all my other pieces today.

I realize I've been wearing my ZERENE as a top a lot more than as a jacket. However, I feel that the ZERENE pieces spice up any kind of simple outfit I wear on a daily basis.

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year so I would like to wish Happy Chinese New year to all my Chinese friends and readers and happy holidays to everyone else.

Pink Diamonds

Inspired by pink diamonds which is one of the rarest jewels in the world, I decided to come up with this pink sequinned top when restocking the Zerene due to popular demand. I'm really happy with the colour since it turned out to be soft and feminine just like how I wanted it to be. I don't always wear pink because it is not my favourite colour, but I'm really loving this one.

Today, I'm pairing it with a nice little fringe white top and a leather skirt from aere's next collection. As a mix and match advocate, I love to have different versatile pieces for me to play with.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Meet Matte Black and My New Glasses

I got myself a new pair of transparent greyish glasses last Friday. My power went up from 300 to 350, so I took that as a sign that I needed a pair of new glasses which I'll be comfortable wearing outside. I'm starting to get used to wearing my new pair of glasses. I always wear contacts during the day and only wear my specs at home. But after awhile I think my eyes has gotten tired and a few people have been asking why I kept on blinking my eyes. No wonder it has been quite a blur for me. I haven't been wearing the correct power!

I asked a question on lenses and eye power on IG and a few IGers replied with beneficial info. A few people made me consider lasik eye surgery too so that I won't have to think about wearing contacts or glasses. However, I will stick to these pair of glasses till I do the lasik surgery. Do share with me your experiences doing the lasik, or how you switch from lenses to glasses or the other way round.

Anyways, here's my first look wearing my glasses. Black, white and grey kind of look. I'm wearing one of my fav half sleeved statement tees I usually wear at home with the statement "It all happened in a moment, take a photograph" and I paired it with a grey + black matte jacket and a checkered skirt. Since this particular jacket is dual-coloured, I usually rub it up or down according to my mood. For this look I turned the  sequinned jacket to be more black than grey. Love the fact that I can do a quick and easy switch of colours to the jacket!

Red Night Out

This was my first night out (read : date night with the husband) after we came back from our umrah trip. We had an amazing 13 days trip and when we came back we spent most of the time with my parents and family. After more than a week, we decided to just spend some time together. Just us two. We haven't done this for awhile in the middle of KL and I must say I enjoyed the night. I feel really blessed that since the career switch that I made as well as his career move, we have actually got to spend so much more time together than ever before. I somehow feel like we are a newly married couple! Hehe. Alhamdulillah for the blessings. God can really turn things around.

We walked about in the colourful streets of Star Hill (Bukit Bintang) and he took some really nice shots of me. Especially love the shots because of the lights at the back! I don't usually wear red nowadays, but we reminisced about how we both liked to wear red when we just started dating 9 years ago. I really loved the colour red back then. So that's why for the special occasion, which was really just an ordinary night out with the husband, I decided to choose the most special colour out of the newly released ZERENEs. Decided to pair it with a black draped top and a black draped skirt to paint the town red (and a little black). Painted my eyelids red too :)

We then had burgers at Johny Rockets and I had passionfruit milkshake. Yums! Simple and ordinary, yet special :) That's how I describe our night out in red.

Olive in a Secret Garden

I remember watching the movie Secret Garden when I was about 10 years old. It was a British drama / fantasy film and I was in awe when I watched it. I was really touched by the movie at the tender age of 10. Now, I can't remember the storyline so much. It has really been a long long time. Memories... I feel like searching for the movie and watching it again.

Somehow the pictures in this post reminds me of the Secret Garden. Yes, if you have seen the movie you will agree with me when I say that it is far from being the same kind of garden. This one is fused with modernity too I must say. But, I still love it anyways. I'm actually dreaming to be in one super special eternal garden... One sweet day. But then again, that's a different story altogether :)

When we took these shots, I was happy that coincidentally my whole outfit actually matched the surroundings. Even my skirt matched the grilled pathways. I wore a tutu skirt I designed and made more than a year ago together with a matching sequinned top and added a pop of colour with an olive green satin scarf. Yes, I know I don't usually wear this kind of green and some may say it's not my kind of colour. But hey, I actually think it goes quite well with the all grey look.  The top is actually dual-coloured and I actually can change it to black, but grey suited the look better.

A combination of sequins, tulle and satin. I love!

You can have a look at my previous look-post wearing the exact same dual-coloured sequinned top as a black jacket in Meet Matte Black and My New Glasses and my posts in 2013 wearing the same grey tutu skirt Emerald in the City and Pu3 Look for Mira's Wedding Reception.

Journey to India 1 : A Whole New World

Namastay dear readers!!

This year's travels has been largely unexpected. If you follow my Instagram you would probably have known that I was in India for the past 7 days through my #rnadiaindia hashtag.

A few days in India has been an eye opening experience for me, I learned so much in those 7 days. India is incredible: it is a place with so much character and it feels like I was in a different world. It changes my perspectives on a whole new level.

I've missed blogging! I didn't bring my laptop to India and the trip to India has been really hectic so I did not have time to blog over there. It wasn't easy for me to get a sim card and wifi too so I only managed to update what's happening in India on my IG through tethering with others who managed to get internet on their mobile phones.

Oh yeah, I did the roaming thing and forgot to take the package this time around and was charged a bomb. So that's tip #1 when you go to India: If you're roaming, subscribe to the daily internet package.

Anyway, I was invited to join a trip to India with other delegates for a buying mission. We went to Mumbai, Ahmadebad and Surat.  It wasn't planned months before or anything. I only got to know about one week before the trip. The week before that was just really hectic as I had to settle a lot of my pending work in Malaysia and also had to squeeze in-between applying for my Indian Visa and generally prepare for the trip.

Before I start on my Journey to India series, I will leave you with some photos of me travelling from Malaysia to India in my comfiest outfit ever, the EDITH Detachable Jumpsuit. Since I knew it was going to be a little cold during the flight which took almost 6 hours, I wore a maroon jacket just to keep me warm. It is pretty lightweight though.

Thank God I decided to do that because the flight itself was okay, but when I arrived, the weather in India was really quite cold as it was winter over there. Sometimes when I am just so used to Malaysia's summer/rain all year round weather I forgot that there are other parts all over the world that experiences the whole 4 seasons thingy.

I can't wait to share all of my experiences in India. But, then again, I haven't even shared my experiences travelling to China in the middle of this year!

I am really thankful for the opportunities to travel this year. I thank Allah for the rezeki and for granting me the health and energy to travel in 2014. Alhamdulillah.

Persistence of Memory 2 : 7 Things I Used to Blog About

$

Last night, I just had a huuuugeee and major throwback.

Persistence. of. Memory. The title itself is just so, so appropriate.

Okay, so yesterday I received an email from a Jack Laylin who said he works for Artsy.net. He said that he stumbled upon my blog while researching for Pablo Picasso, the great artist. Obviously, currently my blog isn't about Pablo Picasso. So I was a little intrigued.

As I read further in his email, he actually attached two links. It turns out, both links linked back to my blog. Yes, my blog. They were:-

On my first few blogs on 7 things I used to blog about

1. my passions
2. things I was addicted to
3. arts (visual and non-visual)
4. music
5. movies
6. dreams
7. comics

and

My Persistence of Memory blogpost.

(on my fav paintings from Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso.  I just realised that I didn't actually write much about Pablo Picasso's artwork in that post. Hehe)

I clicked on both. A flow of memories came rushing in. The posts are all from April 2009. Almost 6 years ago. SIX YEARS!

I can't believe I have actually blogged for almost 6 years. And now that I read through my posts from 2009, I kind of miss that. It was just an anonymous blog back then, I remember. The blog wasn't public yet at the time. It was just me, my computer and my desire to document my passions and interests. I simply shared about things that I loved at the time. Or things that I experienced when I was growing up.

How things have changed.

I must admit I've shared a lot of random things back then. And slowly as this blog grew, I guess I started being a little less random. Maybe because in truth I've turned into someone who's more reserved and private. Maybe. I am trying to change that though.

I miss writing about my random passions and interests. You know what, I'll probably just start to do just that.

Because in more ways than one, I realised that I really love reading those old posts. It reminds me of the person I was and the part of me that I know is still here. Especially when I read My First Post. Random Thoughts and an addict of many things, i am.

Here are some of the photos I took from my previous posts.

From  ~(awe)rora~ on one of my dreams. To go and witness the beautiful auroras.

From politiK : One of my favourite songs of all time reminding me to question about self-identity and of how small we are in this world and how each of us have a purpose in life.

A comic book series I couldn't stop reading from How my Addiction to Fables Begun.

From Viva La Vida - the Painting about searching one's own personal reality and self-identity.

From Scenes and Sound of Music. I just saw the video of Lady Gaga doing a tribute to Julie Andrews and a medley of some of a few of the songs in TSOM. Impressive! Really brings back a lot of memories of my childhood.

Anyways, thank you Jack for the email. Even though I don't know you and we live miles apart (I assume), I'm really happy that your email actually reminded me of the things I used to blog about and how I started my blog all those years ago. Now, I suddenly feel that I have so many, many more things to blog about.

I know I haven't been blogging about my interests for a while other than fashion and personal style. There's a lot of factors. Time is one of the biggest factors. But it's also a sign of what happens when your passion also turns into work. I love blogging, but somewhere along the line, I guess I just didn't take a step back to assess myself and the things I write about. It took the email from Jack and also a timely advice from a friend to make me realise I have so many things to write about. I guess its never too late to start again :)

Oh and guys, do check out Pablo Picasso on artsy.net. It's quite a cool website for paintings. Below is one of my favs from the site!
